Jennifer West

Jennifer West is the Orchestra Director at Coronado High School and Holmes Middle School in District 11. From 2013-2022 she taught orchestra at Mesa Ridge High School and Widefield Elementary School in Widefield School District. Ms. West has also been a bass coach for the CSYSA since 2015.

Ms. West earned her Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI in 2003 and her Master of Music in Double Bass Performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2011.

From 2015-2021, Ms. West was a board member and Treasurer for the Colorado All State Orchestra. She has been an active member of the Colorado chapter of the American String Teachers Association since 2013 and been a presenter at ASTA conferences.

Ms. West currently performs as a bassist with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and subs for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Previously Ms. West has performed with the Fort Collins Symphony, the Greeley Philharmonic, the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, the Denver Philharmonic. In addition to her orchestral performing experience, Ms. West also enjoys playing bluegrass, folk, rock and jazz. When not teaching or performing, Ms. West enjoys spending time with her family traveling, cooking, gardening, and camping.
