Community
Serving our community is a top priority of the CSYSA. With students from over 60 schools participating in CSYSA programs, we strive to reach all segments of our community, placing a strong emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, defined as an important priority in our strategic plan. Our robust financial aid program enables students of all socio-economic backgrounds to participate, granting over $40,000/year in awards. Our beginning strings program has 5 different sites spread across the Pikes Peak Region filling a vacancy of beginning string programs in most of the region's schools.
The CSYSA also offers over 60 performances a year in our community and online. 20 of these performances are part of performance tours for each of our ensembles to area schools. Our annual visit to the Colorado Springs School for the Deaf and Blind is a highlight every year and is often featured with a feature story on area news channels! The CSYSA is fortunate to be part of such a tremendous community!
The CSYSA actively seeks to strengthen our community offerings by partnering with other local artistic and service groups.
Current strategic partners include the following amazing organizations:
-
Sectional coaching by philharmonic musicians.
-
Complimentary master classes offered to our students and the community.
-
Collaborative performances.
-
Regular concerts at the brand-new Ent Center for the Arts.
-
College credit for participation in CSYSA ensembles.
-
The CSYSA and School District 11 partner regularly to bring guest artists to Colorado Springs, collaborate with outreach performances, and develop new programs to serve the community.
